Whether you want a pair to keep old man winter from nipping at your dainty wrists or you just can't resist sporting those short-sleeve and 3/4 sleeve numbers through the frosty months, arm warmers are a savvy way to turn a warm-weather top into a year-round top while keeping your chic in check at the same time. You can even use up a pair of knee-highs well past their prime for the job, no stitching required.

Instructions for Making Recycled Sock Arm Warmers
Option #1: Pull one sock over your arm to gauge how stretchy it is, but generally speaking, you can make a slit right across the toe stitching, which your four fingers will slide through and another tiny slit for your thumb, about an inch down. The heel of your sock should fall near the heel of your hand.

Option #2: If you just want a warmer for your wrists to your elbows, just lop off the sock at the toe stitching and pull your arm warmer to your wrist and forget the second slit.
